Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026. This page explains what information EDUQIVA collects, why, and how it's protected. EDUQIVA enrols adults aged 18 and over only.
This is a plain-language draft, not final legal text. It is posted so EDUQIVA has a live Privacy Policy URL where one is required (SMS/A2P 10DLC registration, payment processing, sign-in providers), and so families and teachers have an honest description of our current practices while the final version is prepared with EDUQIVA's attorney.
What we collect
When you register as a student, apply as a teacher, or apply to sponsor a class, we collect the information the relevant form asks for — for example, name, date of birth, email, phone, country, and time zone. We only ask for what we need to run registration, confirm you are 18 or over, and deliver the class.
Children's privacy
EDUQIVA currently enrols adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our registration system refuses to create a student record for anyone under 18, so a child's information is not collected in the first place. Programmes for younger learners are planned for a later date; when they launch, a parent or guardian will be the account contact of record, enrollment will not be confirmed until that parent or guardian completes a signed consent form, and this notice will be updated in full before any child registers. If you believe a child has registered with us, contact hello@eduqiva.com and we will close the record and erase the child's personal details.
How we use information
To register students and teachers, run classes, send class reminders and schedule changes (by email, and by text message once SMS is enabled), verify age and identity where required, and communicate with sponsors about their sponsorship. We do not sell personal information.
Text messages & email
Registration, password and class emails are service messages: we send them because you hold an account, and they carry no unsubscribe link, because switching them off would stop your account working. If we ever send marketing email, it will be separate, optional, and will carry both an unsubscribe link and our business address. SMS class reminders are not switched on yet; if we add them, message and data rates may apply and you will be able to reply STOP to opt out.
Your choices
You (or, for a minor, their parent/guardian) can ask us to review or correct what we hold, withdraw consent, or close the record, by emailing hello@eduqiva.com.
What deletion actually means
When you ask us to delete your information, we erase the personal details from the student record and close it. Two things deliberately survive. The first is the record that an agreement or consent was signed — not its contents, but the fact of it, the version agreed to, and when. The second is our security log of who accessed what. Both are kept without your personal details attached.
We keep them because they are the evidence that we asked permission before doing anything, and that nobody looked at a record they had no business seeing. Deleting them would mean that if a question were ever raised — by you, a parent, or a regulator — we could not answer it. That protection only works if the records cannot be erased on request, including by us.
